The Story

Jennifer Dunphy isn't someone
who followed a blueprint.
She designed her own.

Born with an insatiable curiosity and a fierce streak of independence, Jennifer has strategically designed her life — and her businesses — entirely on her own terms. She holds a degree in physiology and kinesiology and is a certified personal trainer, though her real education has come from something harder to quantify: living boldly across more than a dozen countries, building things in places where she didn't speak the language, and refusing to let fear make decisions for her.

She began her career in advertising and marketing in 2004, evolving from B2B sales into managing comprehensive digital campaigns for everyone from solo entrepreneurs to Fortune 500 companies, politicians, and professional athletes. She became a sales trainer, a public speaker, a strategist — and along the way, learned that the most powerful skill in business isn't a tactic or a tool. It's the ability to connect with people and make them feel seen.

In 2008, she left corporate life and founded her own digital marketing agency, Vayu Media, — which she still owns today. But her most audacious chapter was yet to come. Together with her husband, she purchased raw land in the rainforest of Uvita, Costa Rica — in a country where she didn't yet speak the language — and built Vista Celestial from nothing. A luxury boutique hotel that became the #1 ranked hotel in all of Central America. For ten years, she ran both businesses simultaneously, curating extraordinary experiences for guests from around the world, before selling Vista Celestial to buyers who have carried on its vision beautifully.

She speaks English, Spanish, and a little French. She has multiple advanced certifications in sales training and marketing. She is someone who has started over — many times, in many places — and knows firsthand that starting over is not a setback. It's a superpower.

Here's what doesn't fit neatly on a LinkedIn profile. I live in Mauritius — one of the most beautiful islands on Earth — with my husband, our two sons, two dogs, and a giant Mauritian tortoise who has absolutely no idea how iconic he is. My home is full of noise and laughter and the kind of chaos that only children and animals can create. I love every second of it.

I am obsessed with biohacking — particularly the science of female health and performance. Most biohacking content is designed around male biology, and I think that's a problem worth solving. I've spent years learning how women's bodies actually work — hormonally, metabolically, neurologically — and applying that knowledge to my own life in ways that have genuinely changed how I feel and function every day.

I move my body through Pilates, yoga, swimming, and hiking. I eat well and I drink good wine without guilt. I believe joy is a health practice, not a reward. I love to dance — alone in my kitchen, which counts — and I'm deeply in love with art in all its forms.

I have a somewhat serious obsession with gemstones and jewelry. I source fine gemstones and design custom jewelry as both a hobby and a side business — it started as a passion project and became something I genuinely can't stop doing. There's something about the idea that something formed deep inside the earth over millions of years ends up on someone's finger that I find endlessly beautiful.

I am fascinated by investing, venture capital, and the mechanics of how money works. I believe every woman should understand how to make her money grow independently — it's one of the most radical acts of self-determination there is.

Travel is in my blood. I've lived in over a dozen countries. I've had the experience — many times — of arriving somewhere completely new with no network, no context, and no roadmap. And I've learned that what looks like uncertainty is actually just the beginning of something.

What Drives Her
